The puzzle is to fit all eight different, including the spare piece packaged at the back of the frame, inside the frame, in a checkered pattern. Yes, they do all fit inside the square frame, no force, no trick!

To make the pieces for this puzzle Mr Puzzle used a technique similar to the way the Japanese craftsman make the Yosegi on puzzle boxes. A profile for each piece was made using Western Australian Jarrah and Queensland Silver Ash and then sliced. The base is made of Western Australian Jarrah.
