The First Box sequential discovery puzzle by Wil Strijbos

$560.00 NZD

This is the updated metal version of the first puzzle box Wil designed back in 1984. But in reality, this is a sequential discovery puzzle not a puzzle box as most understand a puzzle box to be.

The puzzle is to make the sad face that looks out through the hole in the bottom of the First Box into a happy smiley face.

To do this you do not need any tapping, no magnets and no external tools. Everything you need to solve the puzzle can be found inside the puzzle itself. The puzzle is made more difficult because you cannot see anything inside the box as you’re solving it.

When you start the puzzle you can see into the hole in the bottom of the box that the gold anodised metal rod has a sad face on the end. You’ll have done the puzzle when you’ve removed the rod and put it back so that you can look into the bottom of the box and see a smiley face on the rod.

An elegant solution. This means that no element of luck is necessary to solve the puzzle. It can be solved at will with distinct and definite moves.

Size: 70mm x 70mm x 70mm

The puzzle is very solidly made from anodised blue aluminium and has Wil’s signature engraved on the side of the box.  Please understand that there is no packaging with this puzzle except bubble wrap. Will does not include a card or solution or box; just the puzzle box itself.

Wil is a true puzzle solver and has the philosophical view that puzzles should not come with solution sheets. So, if you purchase one of these puzzles there will be no solution supplied.
